HOW TO REGISER FOR E-SHARM

Around 88% of the workforce of the country is engaged in unorganised sector and they are not getting adequate social security benefits. Few welfare schemes are being implemented by the Central Government for specific groups/sub-groups of unorganised workers such as beedi workers, cine workers, building and construction workers etc. Government are implementing welfare programmes for certain categories of unorganised sector workers and non-government organisations also provide social security to certain categories of workers. Central Government to provide certain welfare schemes to all groups of the unorganised sector workers, has enacted the Unorganised Workers Social Security Act 2008. This act has now been sub synced in the code on social security which is a common welfare approach.

eSHRAM portal 

eSHRAM portal has been developed for creating a National Database of Unorganized Workers, which is seeded with Aadhaar. It will have details of name, occupation, address, educational qualification, skill types and family details etc. for optimum realization of their employability and extend the benefits of the social security schemes to them. Any worker who is working in unorganized sector and aged between 16-59, is eligible to register on the eSHRAM portal e.g. migrant workers, gig workers, platform workers, agricultural workers, MGNREGA workers, Fishermen, Milkmen, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, Street Vendors, Domestic workers, Rickshaw pullers and other workers engaged in similar other occupations in the unorganised sector. It is the first-ever national database of Unorganised workers including migrant workers, construction workers, gig and platform workers, etc. For Registration on eSHRAM, Click on https://eshram.gov.in/

More than 18 crore unorganized workers  in the country have already registered under the E SHRAM  platform.

The registration under the e-SHRAM portal is totally free and workers do not have to pay anything for his or her registration at Common Service Centres (CSCs), or Regional Offices of State Government.
